Obituary

Glen Saxvold, 74, died Friday, November 29, 2002 at his home in Grygla, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at Grace Lutheran Church, Grygla, MN, with Reverend Paul Knutson officiating. Burial will be at Landstad Cemetery, Gatzke, MN.

Visitation will be 5 " 8 PM, Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at the Johnson Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, MN, with a 6:30 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Glen Bennit Saxvold was born October 5, 1928, on the family farm near Gatzke, MN, the son of Gustav B. and Berit K. (Sakrismo) Saxvold. He was baptized and confirmed at Landstad Lutheran Church near Gatzke. He grew up and attended country school near Grygla, MN and worked on the family farm. He went to Florida and commercial fished for about a year. He also worked construction in Alaska in the early 1960s. He owned and operated his own bulldozing business for the last 20 years.

Glen was a member of United Lutheran Church, Gatzke. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and going for drives in the country. Glen was good to help out family and friends with whatever they might need. He was a very quiet family oriented man.

Survived by 5 sisters, Ingeborg Loven, Thief River Falls, MN, Elizabeth Holte, Grygla, MN, Hennie (Otto) Hagen, Grygla, MN, June (Fred) Cossentine, Eagle Bend, MN and Dagney (Carlyle) Boberg, Fairbanks, AK; 6 nephews and 10 nieces and many relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by parents, nephew, Roger Loven, brothers-in-law, Henry Holte and John Loven; and special friend, Florence Lawrence.
