Obituary

Glenn Arhart, 89, died on Monday, November 23, 2009 at Valley Elder Care Nursing Home in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.

Glenn Wallace Arhart was born on May 5, 1920 to Henry Arhart and Clara (Aos) in Thief River Falls, MN. Glenn attended school and graduated from Lincoln in 1938. After high school, he moved to Wahpeton, ND and attended the Technical College. Prior to the war, he worked at Lockheed. He served his country in the US Army Air Core. He was stationed in England.

Glenn was united in marriage to Jeanette Tveit on May 25, 1948 in St. Paul, MN. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls. Glenn worked for the Soo Line Railroad as a brakeman and conductor for many years. He has resided at Valley Elder Care in Grand Forks for the past 3 years.

Glenn was active in Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Kiwanis, and Golden Pioneer. He was an avid traveler. He loved raising specialty fruits in his back yard. He was interested in music and followed the stock markets and business world.

Glenn is survived by two children: James (Kathy) Arhart of Lakeville, MN, Mary Anne (Randy) Coleman of Eden Prairie, MN, four grandchildren, Sean &, Erik Coleman, Kyja & Kesley Arhart, sister in law Ann Arhart.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jeanette in 2006, two brothers Lloyd and Vincent Arhart, two sisters Lorraine Buer, and Avis Palmatier.
