Glenn Allen Kalsnes was born March 10, 1959 in Crookston, MN, the son of Harold and Joyce (Jagol) Kalsnes. He was baptized and confirmed at Black River Lutheran Church. While growing up in Thief River Falls, he attended Washington Elementary School, Franklin Middle School, and graduated from Lincoln Senior High School with the class of 1977. Following high school, Glenn went to work at Lyng's Sunflower Plant in Thief River Falls.

On April 17, 1982, Glenn was united in marriage to Diane Mutnansky at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. To this union, three wonderful children were born (Aaron, Ali, and Austin). They made their home in Thief River Falls. On April 18, 1992, he was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic Church.

Glenn spent his life in the sunflower business. He started in an entry-level position and worked his way to becoming manager of Lyng's Sunflower Plant, which transitioned to St. Hilaire Elevator. As a manager, Glenn was a major contributor in developing the Hazel Sunflower Plant. From there, he transferred to CHS in Grandin, ND, as a manager and merchandiser. Glenn was in the sunflower business from 1977 until retirement in 2015. He was also actively involved in the Kalsnes Family Farm throughout the years.

Glenn was avidly interested in sports including baseball, basketball, football, curling, racquetball, cross-country skiing, and golf. He also enjoyed 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, billiards, boating, traveling, and grilling outdoors. He enjoyed socializing with family and friends, loved spending time with his granddaughters and time at the cabin. He had a wonderful singing voice and enjoyed listening to music. His favorite song was "American Pie" by Don McLean and favorite band was Journey. Glenn loved life and was very witty! He always knew what to say, gave good advice, and had a tremendous ability to recall statistics.

His mother's nickname for him was "GL", others called him "Glenno", and everyone called him "Glenny". Through his work, Glenn lived in Thief River Falls, Grand Forks, ND, and West Fargo, ND. He moved to Tampa, in 2019.
