Obituary

Glenn Pete Peterson, 75 died Tuesday, September 05, 2006 at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Red Lake Falls, MN from complications of Parkinsons disease.

Funeral Services will be 2 PM Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 4 PM until 8 PM, Friday, September 8, 2006 with a 7 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral.

Glenn Jerome Peterson was born May 3, 1931 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Hjalmer and Emma (Kuehne) Peterson. He was baptized and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Holt, MN. In the early 1940s, Pete moved with his family to Thief River Fall, MN, where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1949.

On October 5, 1952, Pete was united in marriage to Joan Arndtson at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN. Pete became the Assistant Manager of Gambles, Thief River Falls and in June of 1960, he purchased Falls Supply, Thief River Falls, which later became Napa. He retired from Napa in 1999.

Pete was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, where he had served as church President. He was an active member of the Thief River Falls community and served on the JCs, Chamber of Commerce, Planning Commission and was an Elks member. He enjoyed golfing, curling and outdoor work in the yard such as gardening.

Pete is survived by wife, Joan, Thief River Falls, MN; 2 sons, Thomas (Frances Chunjing), Milwaukee, WI and Dave, Fargo, ND; a granddaughter, Karlotta; sister, Lorna (Joseph) Moline, Green Bay, WI, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Eleanor Magnuson and brother, Arthur Peterson.
