Glenyce Yvonne Eskeli of Plummer, MN passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral for Glenyce will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN with Reverend Jonathan Dodson officiating. Burial will be held at Finnish Cemetery rural Plummer, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Glenyce Yvonne Eskeli was born August 8, 1940, in Thief River Falls, MN, daughter of Woodrow and Laina (Kauppila) Eskeli. She was baptized in 1941 and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN. She attended school in Plummer, graduating in 1958.
The summer of 1958 she started employment at Red Lake County State Bank in Red Lake Falls, MN where she was employed until her retirement 45 years later. While at the Red Lake County State Bank she was a bookkeeper, cashier and Vice President.
Glenyce enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, taking 5 trips to Finland. She also attended Finn Fest all over the country. She was a founding member of the Tri-Rivers Pioneer Museum and past president. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she served on the church council, the Finnish Cemetery Committee serving as treasurer for many years, Plummer Community Home director, and the Red Lake County Fair Board.
Glenyce is survived by her sister Evelyn of Minneapolis, MN, brother Bruce of Plummer, MN; along with many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Laina, brother Rodney (Jill), grandparents Nick and Ilmi Eskeli and Jacob and Lempi Kauppila.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Tri-Rivers Pioneer Museum.
