Gloria Larson, 84 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN with her loving family at her side.

The funeral service to celebrate Gloria's life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Ale Tulu officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Community Cemetery in St. Hilaire, MN.

Gloria Ann Mickelson was born August 16, 1935 on the family farm in Gervais Township near Plummer, MN the daughter of Sivert and Clara Amelia (Craft) Mickelson. She was baptized on October 6, 1935 at the Plummer Lutheran Church and confirmed on July 1, 1951 in Plummer. Gloria attended school in Plummer, graduating from Plummer High School in 1954.

Following high school, Gloria worked for Mortenson Law Office in Thief River Falls, MN.

On February 9, 1957 Gloria was united in marriage to Lester V. Larson at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. To this union four children were born, Curtis, Renee, Coreen and Chris. They settled for a short time in Thief River Falls before starting a dairy cattle operation in Numedal Township, Pennington County, MN. She milked twenty (plus) cattle daily and was very proud of her work. Eventually they changed their operation to a beef cattle and small grain in North Township where they continued to reside until retirement when they moved into Thief River Falls.

Gloria was a natural caregiver throughout her life; raising three children, caring for her aging parents and husband. She was such an angel on earth that we can only imagine the celebration they had today. She had a heart of gold and always thought of others first.

She was a member of Oak Ridge Lutheran Church and was currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Gloria served in many positions at the churches including Ladies Aid and teaching Sunday School.

Survivors include her loving children, Curtis (Marjorie) Larson of Badger, MN, Coreen (Bill) Erickson-Oliver of Thief River Falls, and Chris (Debz) Larson of Grand Island, NE; grandchildren, Shane (Sara) Larson, Nikole (Paul) Baumgartner, Nicholas (Sherry Schwechten) Davis, Jessica Lollar, Christopher (Nichole) Davis, Justine (Dalfred) John, Lorie (Mike) Anderson, David (Brandy) Erickson and McKayla Erickson; great-grandchildren, Christian, Broden & Hadley Larson, Landon, Clara, Noah & Grace Baumgartner and Isabelle & Aurora Davis; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester in 2010; infant daughter, Renee; son-in-law, Paul Erickson; parents; sister, June (Donald) Lokken; brother-in-law, Clifford (Carmen) Larson; and Beverly (LaVerne ) Hamre.
