Gloria Liden-Pittman, 85, died on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN.

Memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Voelker, PhD, and Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Friday, October 1, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Gloria Mae Gran was born January 12, 1925 at Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of John M. and Olga Christine (Burtness) Gran. She was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls. She grew up and attended school in Thief River Falls, MN. She attended cosmetology school in Chicago, IL. Following school, she returned to Thief River Falls. She was united in marriage January 15, 1944 to Lyle M. Liden. They made their home in town for many years. To this union two children Kay and Brian were born. Gloria worked as a nurses aid at Northwestern Hospital for over 30 years. She was proud to serve as union steward for many years. Lyle died in 1990. Gloria later married Gordon A. Pittman on May 16, 1992. They made their home in Thief River Falls. Gordon died in 2006.

Gloria did a lot of sewing and baking. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, collecting tea cups and teddy bears. She kept active by doing aerobics and bowling. She and Lyle lit up the dance floor at the Eagles Club. She sought out bargains at rummage sales and auction sales. She was a member of the union. Gloria was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed attending church with her husband Gordon at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge.

Gloria is survived by two children, Kay (Pat) Fischer and Brian (Deb) Liden, both of Thief River Falls, MN; 3 grandchildren: Rebecca (Ernie) Nelson, Jessica and Stephanie Liden, 3 great grandchildren, Jordyn Nelson, Justin Nelson, Jase Nelson, 2 step children: Larry (Loretta) Pittman, of Thief River Falls, MN, Roger (Rae Ann) Pittman of Goodridge, MN, 6 step grandchildren: Lorray (Steve) Rolfer, Lana (Mark) Bruggeman, Loren (Lisa) Pittman, Melissa Breuer, Andrea (Brent) Hanson, Matt, 11 step great grandchildren: Blake Rolfer, Raynee Bruggeman, Linzie, Bailey, Noah, and Nicholas Pittman, Anna, Ella, and James Hanson, Autumn and Brooklyn Breuer, one brother, John (Jean) N. Gran, Spokane, WA.

Preceded in death by parents, husband Lyle, husband Gordon, two sisters June Warberg and Naomi Berg.
