Gloria Jean Rostvet, 58, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at her daughters home in Fargo, ND, following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.


Gloria Jean Bourbanis was born September 30, 1946 at Langdon, ND, the daughter of Jerome and Lillian (Gustafson) Bourbanis. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. She grew up, attended and graduated from Walhalla High School in 1965.

On July 17, 1965, Gloria was united in marriage to Marvin Hartley Rostvet at Walhalla, ND. In 1970, the couple moved to East Valley Township, near Middle River, MN, where they bought a farm. They farmed until 1996, when they moved to Smiley Township, near Thief River Falls, where they raised small grain and cattle.

Gloria was employed at Land O Lakes processing plant, Variety Sales and Digi-Key all in Thief River Falls. She was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church and Ringbo Homemakers. She enjoyed cross-stitching, crossword puzzles, Bingo and vacationing with her sisters. Most of all, Gloria loved spending time with family and friends.

Survived by daughters, Wannetta (Lee) Wilhelm, East Grand Forks, MN and Sharon (Kirk) Hanson, Fargo, ND; 4 grandchildren, Jessica and Nicole Wilhelm, East grand Forks, MN and Gage and Parker Hanson, Fargo, ND; 4 brothers, Lloyd (Karen) Bourbanis and Gary (Linda) Bourbanis, all of Walhalla, ND, Gerald (Faye) Bourbanis, Park River, ND and Glenn Bourbanis, Seattle, WA; 6 sisters, Joann McDonald, Dilworth, MN, Lila (Gary) Cook, Karlstad, MN, Shirley Gudmundson, Mountain, ND, Ruth (Less) Laidlaw, Fargo, ND, Cathy Hell, Seattle, WA and Barbara (Jeff) Dalzell, Blaine, MN.

Preceded in death by husband, Marvin, December 1, 2004; parents; brother, Glenn Bourbanis in infancy.
