Gorden Sourdif of Thief River Falls, MN, 69, died Friday, February 6, 2015 at Oakland Park Communities, Thief River Falls, MN with his loving family at his side. Funeral service will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Golv officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral. Gorden LeRoy Sourdif was born August 16, 1945 in Warren, MN the son of Raymond and Loretta (Lien) Sourdif. He was baptized and confirmed into the catholic faith. He attended school in Holt, MN and graduated from Newfolden High School in 1963. On June 28, 1965, Gorden was united in marriage to Rosalyn Helen Kvamme at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking, MN. The couple lived on a farm near Newfolden, MN and various places until settling in Badger, MN in March of 1968. To this union four children were born, Roy, Henry, Doreen and Dawn. Gorden worked at various jobs including driving truck hauling Christmas trees, custom combining, hauled milk from the area dairy farms. In 1968 he worked for a farmer near Badger, MN and then for the elevator in Roseau, MN. In 1986, Gorden was offered a job in Wahpeton, ND where he worked for Wahpeton Canvas. In 1988 he began delivering newspapers for the Fergus Falls Daily Journal. His most recent job was as a maintenance man for Cardinal Homes and Augustana Apartments in Fergus Falls, MN. Due to health reasons in 2009, Gorden retired and he and Rosalyn returned to live in Thief River Falls. Gorden enjoyed making crafts with plastic canvas, fishing, camping, and visiting with his kids and grandkids. He was lovingly known as "Skip" throughout his life. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Rosalyn of Thief River Falls, MN; children, Roy (Cynthia) Sourdif of Thief River Falls, MN, Henry (Mary Jane) Sourdif of Pensacola, FL, Doreen (Bruce) Sandberg of Salol, MN, and Dawn Sourdif of Waterloo, IA; grandchildren, Amber (Travis) Schnobrich of Randall, MN, Keith (ReBekah) Sourdif of Ft. Benning, GA, Anthony Sourdif of Minneapolis, MN, Jonathan Sourdif of Thief River Falls, MN, Megan Rhen of Phoenix, AZ, Samantha Sandberg of Thief River Falls, MN, Joshua Sourdif of Pensacola, FL; step-grandchildren, Kala Williams, Debi Marshall, BobbiRose Marshall; great-grandchildren, Aaron Lee and Leah Ann Schnobrich; mother, Loretta Sourdif of Thief River Falls, MN; siblings, Patsy (Richard) Moen of Newfolden, MN, Susan (Jim) Bevel of Wagoner, OK, Sandra (John) Lubitz of Thief River Falls, MN, Larry (Elizabeth) Sourdif of St. Hilaire, MN, Wayne (Susan) Sourdif of Ada, MN, Donald Sourdif of Roseau, MN; brother-in-law, Allen (Sherry) Leidberg of Sabin, MN; sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Richard) Kostrzewski of Rosewood, MN and Roylene (Galen) Petersen of Trail, MN; brothers-in-law, Randall (Karen) Kvamme of Audubon, MN and Ronald Kvamme of Edina, MN; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond; sister, Joyce Leidberg; and infant sister, Michelle Sourdif.
