Grace Jelle was born August 8, 1931 at Mercy Hospital, Grygla, MN to Thora (Moe) Jelle and John Jelle.  She went to the East School,Beltrami County.

On October 28, 1949, Grace was united in marriage to Carlyle Askeland at the Grygla Parsonage.  Grace was a stay at home mom and loved being home with her children and teaching them about Jesus.

Grace was a member of Liberty Chapel and the Ladies Missionary group.  She helped on the farm until 2004 when Grace and Carlyle moved intoan apartment at Independence Hall in Grygla, MN,  Carlyle died in 2004 and Grace continued living in the apartment on her own until 2016, when she moved to Oakland Park Communities nursing home.

Grace enjoyed reading her Bible, watching Hallmark movies, going out to eat with her family and friends, spending time with loved ones, and gardening.  Grace would also frequently pray for her family and friends, as well as anyone else in need.

Grace Askeland, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Oakland Park Communities Nursing Home, Thief River Falls, MN surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 5 days. God Bless her memory.

A private family memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016.
