Grace Tweten, 88, died Thursday, December 21, 2006 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Funeral service will be 11 AM, Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Warroad Baptist Church, Warroad, MN, with Reverend Scott Stoll officiating. Burial will be 3:30 PM at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be 5 " 8 PM, Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN, with a 7 PM prayer service conducted by Reverend Wendell Wahlin and for one hour prior to service at the church, Thursday.
Grace Nellie Mae Taylor was born August 14, 1918 in Forest River, ND, the daughter of Alexander and Sophia (Hutton) Taylor. At 11 months of age, Grace and family moved to Grygla, MN, where she grew up and attended school.
On February 12, 1941, Grace was united in marriage to Howard Tweten at Grygla, MN. The couple moved into Thief River Falls in 1946 and resided there until 1994, when Grace moved to Warroad, where she has lived with her daughter, Jean since. Howard passed away January 6, 1994.
Grace was a member of the Minneapolis Blood Bank. She loved to sew and loved flower gardening. Most of all her passion was her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.
Grace is survived by daughters: Adella Pearson, Roseau, MN, Bernice (Roger) Skime, Thief River Falls, MN, Helma Knapp, Viola, WI, Sharon (Al) Paggen, Thief River Falls, MN, Gary (Diane) Tweten, Wannaska, MN, Wayne (LuAnn) Tweten, Warroad, MN, Nona (Hal) Zutz, Grand Forks, ND and Jean (Mark) Colliflower, Warroad, MN; 28 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, Reverend Arthur Taylor, Superior, NE; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Howard; great grandson, Jamie Swanson; parents; brothers and sisters, Clarence, Ethel, Lloyd, Johnny, Inez, Lila, Clarence, Melville and Allen and son-in-law, Wallace Knapp.
