Greg Piche died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the age of 48 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Ale Tulu officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 pm with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Wednesday at the church.
Gregory Mark Piche was born February 27, 1961 in Grand Forks, ND the son of George and Joyce (Kenmir) Piche. He was baptized at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND on August 19, 1964 and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN.
He attended school at the Washington Elementary School in Crookston, MN, Hughes Middle School in Red Lake Falls, MN and graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls in 1979.
Greg was united in marriage to Sharon Koop on May 9, 1981 at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. They made their home in Thief River Falls and to this union there were three children born, Daniel, Paul and Julie.
Greg learned how to drive truck at an early age and drove truck for over 30 years. He was an owner/operator truck driver and currently leased to Scott's Express of Grand Forks, ND.
He enjoyed camping, boating, water skiing, tubing and knee boarding with his family at Island Lake Resort; family ski trips to Big Sky, MT; riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle; and spending time with his grandkids.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Thief River Falls; children, Danny Piche and his children, Brock, Lexi and Bryce all of Alexandria, MN, Paul Piche of Moorhead, MN, and Julie Piche of Moorhead, MN; mother, Joyce Piche of Thief River Falls; father, George Piche of Red Lake Falls, MN; sisters, Elaine (Brian) Peterson of Silverdale, WA, Bonnie Gustafson of Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Dennis (Deb) Piche of Red Lake Falls, MN, Roger (Patty) Piche of Red Lake Falls and Wayne (Lisa) Piche of Manvel, ND; special friends, Ken and Betty Gillette family; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kelsey Piche; brother, Ben Piche; nephew, Mark Piche; grandparents, Walter and Tillie Kenmir, Clifford and Lomenia Piche.
