Gunhild Olson was born August 30, 1913, at Effie, MN, the daughter of Bjorn Ben and Julia (Hegland) Olson. She was baptized into the Lutheran Faith and confirmed in Norwegian language. She accepted the Lord at a tent meeting in 1938. She grew up and attended country school near Bygland, MN.

State in Thief River Falls on October 13, 1973 She worked as a housekeeper and also worked at Arctic Cat loading seat padding.
Gunhild and Ole became members of Our Saviours Lutheran Church on February 8, 1959. Gunhild was a strong woman of faith, always quick to share a Bible verse, always loving to serve her Lord and others in any helpful way she could. She often, way until her closing hours, would say, If you have the Lord, then you have everything! She enjoyed reading and visiting with friends. She read the Bible completely 14 times. Everyday she read John 17 and was so touched at how Jesus prays for all of us. Gods word was very, very precious to her and her Bible was so very worn and tattered from diligent use. Just hours before her death she was praising God for His faithfulness and goodness to her. One can almost hear her saying, Oh, ya,ya,ya, God is so good!
Death came to her as a long awaited friend and her transition to heaven came with an awesome quiet, easy peace, as friends around her bed bade her farewell.a beautiful testimony of victory in Jesus. Im sure as she entered heavens portals God said, Well done, my good and faithful servant! Welcome home!
