Gwen Hruby of Goodridge, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND with her loving family by her side.

The service to celebrate Gwen's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN with Pastor Dawn Hanson officiating.

Gwen Bellefeuille was born May 24, 1955 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Duane and Marian (Golkowski) Bellefeuille. She spent her childhood in Callaway, attending grade school there and graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1973.

She then worked at the Callaway School and St. Mary's Nursing Center.

She married Jody Kangas and they made their home at Bass Lake, MN until his passing. The couple was blessed with four children.

Gwen was warehouse manager at World of Christmas in Park Rapids, MN.

She married Larry Hruby on March 8, 1997 in Detroit Lakes, MN. They resided at Toad Lake east of Detroit Lakes and developed G & L and Sons Construction LLC. They worked throughout the states of Minnesota and North Dakota. They moved to Goodridge, MN area and helped family and neighbors with their construction projects.

Gwen was kind and compassionate, but never shying away from a challenge or hard work. She loved her family and friends and lived a good life. Her grandchildren were very important to her!

She and Larry enjoyed hunting, Canadian fishing, gardening, bird and deer watching, living and working together. In later years they cruised the neighborhood looking for wildlife, traveling and visiting other states.

Gwen is survived by her husband Larry; sons Luke (Brittany) Kangas, Kailey Kangas and Mike (Laura) Hruby; daughter Stacy Finley; grandchildren, Dillen, Kash, Ryan, Maddy, Hunter, Alex, Madison, Hannah, Brayden; mother Marian Bellefeuille; brothers Darcy (Bonnie) Bellefeuille, Dan (Christy) Bellefeuille, Doug Bellefeuille, Joe (Kristi) Bellefeuille, Paul (Kristi) Bellefeuille; sister Mary (Jonis) Estrem; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father Duane; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and in-laws.
