Jeanette Reierson, 84, died on Friday, July 15, 2005 at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, July 22, 2005 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2005 from 5-8 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the services in the church on Thursday.
Helen Jeanette Hammett was born on May 5, 1921 to Samuel and Hazel (maiden name here) Hammett at Rush Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada. She graduated from Swift Current High School. She went on the graduate as a registered nurse from the St. Boniface Nursing School in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jeanette moved to Thief River Falls, MN in 1948 to work at Mercy Hospital. She was united in marriage to Gordon P. Reierson on September 11, 1949 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. They made their home in Thief River Falls where Jeanette was active in her nursing career, working at Mercy Hospital, Northwest Medical Center, and Oakland Park Nursing Home. She also did some teaching NCTC.
Jeanette was active in Zion Lutheran Church teaching Sunday School, Bethel Series, and the circle. She was also active in cub scouts and boy scouts as a den mother. Jeanette was also a member of the Mayflower Society. She was an active homemaker who loved to sew, bake, crochet, and read. Jeanette moved to the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine in 2003.
Jeanette is survived by her 4 children: Thomas (Jill Dalbacka) Reierson, Duluth, MN; Robert (Joyce) Reierson, Juneau, AK; Donald (Trish) Reierson, Wayspringers, NY; and Millie Reierson, Thief River Falls, MN; 1 brother Donald (Pat) Hammett, Eugene, OR; 2 sisters: Marianne (Paul) Laratti, Santa Rosa, CA; Muriel (Jr.) Miller, Bay Lake, MN; 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon in 1989, parents, 5 brothers: Earl, Larry, John, Gerald, Floyd, and 2 sisters: Alma Bean and Grace Lamb.
