Harold Hinrichs Red Lake Falls, MN, age 83, died on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Jonathan Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Red Lake Falls. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 12, 2015 5 - 8 PM, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Lake Falls, with a Prayer Service at 7 PM and visitation also one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church. Harold Roland Hinrichs was born January 5, 1932 in Red Lake Falls, MN, the son of August and Florence (Gale) Hinrichs. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Lake Falls, MN. He attended rural school and attended LaFayette High School, Red Lake Falls through the 9th grade. In December of 1952, Harold entered the United States Army and served his country until September of 1954. Upon his discharge he returned to Red Lake Falls. In February of 1955, he and his brother Alfred purchased the family farm, where they raised grain and cattle. In 1993, Harold retired from farming. He worked also at Detroiter, Red Lake Falls for 3 years and the sugar beet factory, also for 3 years. Harold was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Lake Falls, where he served as Trustee and head usher for many years. He also was secretary for St. John's Men's Club for 2 years. He held membership with the Red Lake Falls American Legion. Harold enjoyed all kind of ball games, mainly the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He liked flower gardening, spending a little time at the casino and after his retirement, he like to jump in the car and drive around and look at crops. Survivors include a sister Delores Page, Crookston, MN and brother Darrell (Jane) Hinrichs, Albany, OR, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by parents, sister Phyllis Bell, brothers Duane and Alfred and Larry in infancy, and a brother-in-law Ray Page.
