Harold Kees, 68 of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

The funeral service to celebrate Harold's life will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend Mark Helgeland officiating.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church.

Harold Albert Kees was born May 30, 1953 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Vernon and Lillian (Scharmer) Kees.  He attended elementary school in Thief River Falls and Lincoln High School.  Harold farmed with his father.

On May 3, 1974, Harold married Sheryl Pederson and to this union, two children were born, Jeremy and Krista.

Harold worked for Ben Hible Gas Station, Hydra-Mac, farmed on the Don Miller farm, Wahpeton, ND and worked at Dan Jolly Trucking for 32+ years logging over 2,000,000 miles.  He also owned Kees Boarding Home.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  He especially enjoyed his yearly vacation trips with his two sisters Vivi and Laverne.  He was always the life of the party and enjoyed making people laugh.  In his younger years, he played drums in the band Country Roads .

Harold was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survived by daughter, Krista (Jared) Alby, Thief River Falls, MN; daughter-in-law, Kelly Kees, Carlos, MN; sisters, Vivian Knutson, Thief River Falls, MN and LaVerne Sorenson, Bozeman, MT; grandchildren, Aden, Aliyah, Austin, Lilly, Trista and Jaxson ; great grandchildren, Hailey and Kohlton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Kees in October 2021; his parent; and brother-in-law, Harley Knutson.
