Harold Myrum, 77, of rural Oklee, MN and formerly of Ham Lake, MN died on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, rural Oklee, MN with Rev. Jonathan Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday at the church. Harold James Myrum was born on September 10, 1934 on the Myrum family farm in Mayfield Township, Pennington County, MN the ninth of eleven children born to Ole and Sarah (Austad) Myrum. He was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, rural Oklee, MN. Harold attended country school and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN. Following high school, Harold moved to the Twin Cities area and worked as a crane operator for Keillor Steel Company. He then entered into served in the United States Army. Following his Honorable Discharge, Harold returned to the Twin Cities and started building houses with his brother, Donald. Harold was a custom home builder for over 35 years and was united in marriage to Donna Johnson for 27 years. After his retirement in 1997 he returned to live on the Myrum family farm near Oklee where he has continued to reside until his death. Harold was an avid sportsman; he hunted and fished all over North America. He also sponsored a trap team. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alvin, Andor, Theodore, Gilmore, Chester, Robert, and Donald; sisters, Lorraine, Joyce and Margaret.
