Harold Avery Walters, 92 of Erskine, MN passed away on May 20, 2016 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center at Erskine, MN.

Funeral will be held on Wednesday May 25, 2016 11:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN. Burial will be held at First English Cemetery at Mentor, MN.

Visitation will be held 9 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.

Harold Avrey Walters was born April 20, 1924 near Medilia, MN son of Lewis and Nellie (Conroy) Walters. As a young child the family moved to Mapleton, MN. In 1944 Harold enlisted in the US Army and served in WWII and was honorable discharged in 1946.

On November 4, 1947 he was united in marriage to Kathryn Burma at Mapleton, MN. The couple made their home in Montgomery, MN and later moved to Mentor, MN. They were blessed with 7 children.

Harold farmed most of his life, he also worked at the turkey plant in Fairbault, MN. He enjoyed auction sales and restoring antique tractor and visiting. He moved to Nimens Espagard and then Pioneer Memorial Care Center.

He is survived by his children, David Walters of Brooks, MN, Virginia Horejsi of Montgomery, MN, Betty (Roman) Jindra of Montgomery, MN Dennis (Nora) Walters of Mentor, MN, Sally (Clifford) Martell of Borup, MN, George (Vicki) Walters of Erskine, MN; 16 grandchildren Ralph, Brian, Michael, Peggy, Tammy, Keith, Karen, Roxanne, Gerald, Jessica, Kim, Carie, Matthew, Dorothy, McKayla and Kyle; 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, son-in-law Oliver Kimbro of Oklee, MN; siblings Lewis Walters of Thatcher, AZ, Ronnie (Diane) Walters of Wells, MN and Florence Gilister of Albert Lea, MN several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Margie Walters and brother-in-law Ted Sipple.

He is preceded in death by his wife Kathryn, parents daughter Mary Jane Walters Kimbro, infant son and grandsons Jack Dean Walters, Robert Horejsi and Dale Walters; daughter-in-law Theresa Walters; siblings Willis, Willard, Earl, Francis and Dale, Doris Bach, Margaret Lang and Nellie Sipple.
