Harriet E. Anderson, 87, died Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral service will be 2 PM, Saturday, August 13, 2005 at First Lutheran Church, Middle River, MN with Reverend Curtis Matz officiating. Burial will be at Spruce Valley Cemetery, rural Middle River, MN.
Visitation will be 5 " 8 PM, Friday, August 12, 2005 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN, with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church, Saturday.
Harriet Elizabeth VonWald was born October 15, 1917 in Eckvoll Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Herbert A. and Mary E. (Thornton) VonWald. She grew up in the Lutheran Faith and was baptized as an adult. Harriet attended Golden Valley School and Middle River High School.
On February 11, 1934, Harriet was united in marriage to Frank William Anderson in Middle River, where they made their home. She was a farm wife and homemaker who raised nine children.
She was a Life Time member of American Legion Auxiliary for 55 years, helped start the 4-H Club in Strathcona, MN, Senior Citizens, Quilters, Community Club and Sunday School Teacher. She loved to watch her childrens extra curricular activities and sporting events for over 35 years. Harriet enjoyed the 4 seasons, reading, traveling, fishing, cooking, baking and snow-mobiling in her younger years. She was civic minded and enjoyed following current events. She also especially loved visiting her children and grandchildren
Survived by children, Earl (Jan), Stephen, MN, Wallace Wally , Strathcona, MN, James (Alice), Custer, SD, Elona (Gerald) Moen, Newfolden, MN, Richard (Sylvia), Edgewater, MD, Lowell (fianc, Pat Boucher), Keller, TX and Brian (Brenda), Palm Bay, FL; 15 grandchildren, Greg Anderson, Donn Anderson, Colleen Peterson, Karen Walker, Francisca Lee, Terri Tuggle, Ward Anderson, Darcene Burgess, Beth Moen, Brent Anderson, Debra Anderson, Kristen Hall, Jennifer Anderson, Breanna Anderson and Brandon Anderson; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husband, Frank, 2 sons, Gordon and Robert, parents and 3 brothers, Stanley, Don and Glenn Von Wald.
