Harvey Louis Hagl 83 of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center at Erskine, MN.
Service of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Bob Schreiner Officiating, and Deacon John Bruggeman. Burial will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery at Terrebonne.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Harvey Louis Hagl was born February 27, 1934 in Gervais Township, rural Red Lake Falls, MN son of Louis and Luella (Meyer) Hagl. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Red Lake Falls. Harvey drove sample truck for Oliver mining, and was employed at Wesmann Silo. He drove truck for Arden Leas where he met his wife Judith. He bought his own truck in 1965 and drove as an independent trucker hauling over the road and in later years local runs. He worked for Vatthauer farms in Red Lake Falls and his last job was hauling for the Red Lake Falls Elevator.
On Oct. 5, 1964 Harvey was united in marriage to Judith Leas at Crookston, MN. The couple made their home in Gentilly. Judith passed away February 9, 1974. Harvey moved into Red Lake Falls in May of 1974. Harvey was remarried to Violet Larson at Terrebonne. She passed away in 2005.
He enjoyed fishing, spearing in the winter and playing cards. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Harvey is survived by his children Pamela (Randy) Bradshaw of Red Lake Falls, MN, and Harvey Jr. Hagl of Red Lake Falls, MN; grandchildren Sarah Manning of Red Lake Falls, MN, Christine (Adam) Slotten of Fargo, ND, Leah Manning of Red Lake Falls, MN and Kari (Ben) O'Donnell of Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren Abby, Lexi, Nathan, Mikael, Tymothy, and Amelia. Siblings Joseph (Pat) Hagl of Red Lake Falls, MN, Elizabeth (James) Sauve of Red Lake Falls, MN, Leonard "Pete" Hagl of Red Lake Falls, MN; along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wives Judith and Violet, brothers and sisters James Vickery, Theresa Cardinal, Josephine DeHaan, Margaret Kehn, and Alfred Hagl.
