Hazel Jorland, 85, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Nancy Hanson officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Johnson Funeral Service on Friday.

Hazel Marie Lunke was born on May 13, 1921 in East Valley Township, Marshall County, MN, the seventh child of Ole and Clara (Knutson) Lunke. She attended Sunnyside School and grew up in the Holt area. On September 21, 1946 she was united in marriage to Clifford Jorland. They lived, farmed and raised their family in the Ringbo Community.

Throughout her long, active life, Hazel devoted her considerable energy and talent to her family, her friends, her pets and her gardens. In her spare time, she produced a great deal of needlework, which she shared with her friends and family. Hers was a beautiful life well lived.

Hazel is survived by her husband, Clifford, Holt, MN; daughters: Barbara (Gordon) Overland, Moose Lake, MN; Linda Ahrndt, Leavenwoth, KS; sons: Joe (Beverly) Jorland of Laporte, MN, Steve Jorland, Middle River, MN, Olaf Jorland and Gary Jorland, both of Hallock, MN; grandchildren: Marie, Jackie and Bob; great grandchildren: Jamie and Andi; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and four brothers.
