Hazel C. Schultz, age 83, of Red Lake Falls, MN died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Riverview Health in Crookston, MN.

Hazel Claire Sylvester Schultz was born August 27, 1926 in the village of Hallock, Minnesota to Laura (Hare) Sylvester and Leonard Sylvester. She died April 6, 2010 in Crookston, Minnesota. She attended high school and teacher's training at the Agricultural College (AC) in Crookston, Minnesota now known as University of Minnesota, Crookston Campus. She was united in marriage to LaVern Gerald Schultz on December 6, 1946 in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. The lived on the Schultz family farm until 1972 when they moved into the city of Red Lake Falls where both were employed at Washington Elementary School.
Her great joys in life were her family and dancing. Her life theme was "You can choose to be happy or sad; I choose to be happy". She is survived by her children: DeVerle (Ross) Jones, Bloomington, Minnesota; Kent (Karen) Schultz, Ulen, Minnesota; Brian Schultz, Lakewood, California and daughter-in-law Kathleen (Keith) Schultz of Minot, North Dakota; her grandchildren: Chris (Amy) Jones, Jennifer Jones, Brandon Schultz, Corey (Sue) Schultz, Chelsea Schultz, Garrett Schultz, Andrew Schultz, Sara Schultz, Carrie Schultz, Molly (Josh) Schultz Eken; great-grandchildren: Dustin Schultz, Love Schultz, Alex Jones, Lucy Jones, Rooke Brandstetter, Lily Eken.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LaVern in 1985 and their son, Keith, in 1983, her half-brother Kalvin Sylvester, her sister Madrienne Sylvester Theisen
