Heidi Bjornson of Fosston, MN formerly of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Heidrun "Heidi" Schmandt was born October 31, 1957 at Giessen, Germany daughter of Werner and Helga (List) Schmandt. She was raised in Giessen where she attended and graduated school. She took care of her mother and grandmother and worked at the grocery store.

In 1975 Heidi was united in marriage to Kenneth Dale Robinette in Frankfort, Germany. In 1976 the couple moved to the United States where Ken was stationed in Pennsylvania. To this union 4 children were born Stephanie, Kenneth, April and Joel. They moved to Oklahoma, Washington State, and finally to North Dakota. Heidi moved to Thief River Falls in 1981 where she worked at Putzy Café in the Roller Rink for a short time. She then began working at the Best Western where she stayed for many years and in the last years she was employed at the Casino.

Heidi enjoyed going to parks, reading, gardening and flower gardening. She also enjoyed fishing and hunting, crocheting and sewing and had many dogs over the years. Most of all she loved and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.

Heidi is survived by her children Stephanie Lerol of Thief River Falls, MN, Kenneth Hoffmann (Jeni Gaffaney) of Thief River Falls, MN and Joel (Wendy) Robinette of Newfolden, MN: grandchildren Hannah Lerol, Kenya Hoffmann, Kyra Hoffmann, Damian Robinette, Arriana Robinette, Landin Robinette and Payton Robinette. Siblings Reimund Schmandt of Germany, Angelika DePew of Colorado Springs, CO, Juergen Schmandt of Germany, Simone Walker of Tomah, WI, Nicole Woldrich of Germany, and Beate Woldrich of Germany, along with many nieces and nephews, and her four legged friend Bella.

Heidi is preceded in death by her daughter April, parents Helga and Werner, father of her children Kenneth.
