Helen Hall, 78, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Center Care Health System, Melrose, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at St. Bernards Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM on Saturday at the church.

Helen Beryl Sandum was born on June 28, 1932 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Herman and Edith (Patten) Sandum. She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith and attended schools in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School.

On December 29, 1948, Helen was united in marriage to Bruce Hall at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Together they made their home in Thief River Falls and owned and operated Halls Floral, where Helen worked as bookkeeper.

Bruce and Helen enjoyed dancing and civic organizations. Helen played in a bridge club for many years. Helen was active in St. Bernards Catholic Church and volunteered as school librarian assistant, Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and Mrs. Jaycees. Family was the most important part of Helens life. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother and neighbor as well.

Following their retirement they moved to Burtrum, MN. While living in Burtrum they were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grey Eagle, MN and Helen was a member of Christian Mothers.

Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Bruce of Burtrum, MN; six children, Deb (Rick) Kelim of Westminster, CO, Tom (Vivian) Hall of Crookston, MN, Steven Hall, Salt Lake City, UT, Mary (Garret) Reierson of Thief River Falls, Greg (Melissa) Hall of Thief River Falls, and Jon (Peggy) Hall of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; Stacey (Dave) Honeyman of Arvada, CO, Matt Kelim, CO, Aaron (Melissa) Hall, South St. Paul, MN, Micah (Heather) Hall, Crookston, MN, Jennifer Hall, Minneapolis, MN, Tammy (Bob) Ballard, Thief River Falls, MN, Lisa (Jonathan) Hams, Thief River Falls, MN, Jarod Reierson, Thief River Falls, MN, Jakob and Hudson Hall, Thief River Falls, MN, and Ashley and Alex Hall of Hutchinson, MN; 14 Great Grandchildren: brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Jan Hall of Missouri; niece, Jill (Cliff) Tabke of Boston, MA; nephews, Jim (Nicole) Hall of Minneapolis, MN; and Jason (Michelle) Hall of Shawnee, Kansas; one great niece; two great nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, Robert; parents, Herman and Edith Sandum; brothers, Donald and Daniel Sandum; and mother and father- in- law, Orrin and Louise Hall.
