Helen Pladson, 85, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, MN.

Funeral Services will be 11 AM, Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Mark Kukkonen officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5 PM to 8 PM, Friday, November 3, 2006 at Johnson Green Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral at church.

Helen Gehardena Moan was born July 7, 1921, at Glenwood, MN, the daughter of Cornelius and Gudlug Moan. She attended school and graduated from Glenwood high school in 1938.

Helen was united in marriage to Stanley Everett Pladson, September 20, 1940 at Glenwood, MN, where the couple made their home. She was a homemaker until the children entered school. Helen worked at Border Drug, Thief River Falls in the 1960s and also at Bostwicks in the fabric department for many years in the 1970s and 1980s.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls and American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. She liked to cook, bake, play bingo and cards and was an animal lover. Helen also belonged to a sewing club.

She is survived by 4 children: Stanford (special friend, Claudia) Pladson, Champlin, MN, Craig, wife Charlotte, Pladson, Ramsey, MN, Faith, husband E. Duane Knott, Red Lake Falls, MN; Darlene husband, Herbert Torstveit, Thief River Falls, MN; 12 grandchildren: Troy, wife Rayna Pladson, Chaska, MN, Stanford Jr., wife Katie., Zimmerman, MN, Summer Pladson, St. Paul, MN, Cindy, husband Matt Olson, WA, Candy, husband Donny Flower, Maple Grove, MN, Craig Pladson Jr., Dayton, MN, Melissa Knott, New Prague, MN, Matthew (special friend, Nicole Heskin) Knott, Red Lake Falls, MN and MacKenzie Knott, East Grand Forks, MN, Heather, husband Andrew Harbott, St. Hilaire, MN, Allyson Torstveit, Grand Forks, ND and Seth Torstveit, St. Hilaire, MN; eight great-grandchildren, Stanford Pladson, Samantha Olson, Alexis Pladson, Donnie Flower, Dakota Flower, Channel Flower, Carla Pladson and Dru Harbott.

She is preceded in death by husband; parents; brothers, John Moan and Christy Moan; and sister, Anna Tully.
