Helga Lambert, 91, of Thief River Falls, MN formerly of Oklee, MN died on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 21, 2001 at 2:00 PM in Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN with Reverend Robert Paulson Officiating. Burial will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 " 7 PM with a 6:30 PM Prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Helga Loiland was born July 20, 1910 daughter of the late Nels and Kari (Gunderson) Loiland at rural Trail, MN. She graduated from Bemidji State College in 1928. She taught School in rural Schools near Trail and Oklee. On August 26, 1936 She was united in marriage to Omer Lambert. The couple farmed in the Oklee area until 1959 when they moved into Oklee, MN. In 1964 they moved to McCleary, WA and Helga taught at Elma, Washington for several years. In 1969 they moved to Thief River Falls where she lived until Omers death in 1977 when she moved to Oklee. She resided there until 1996 when she entered the Valley Home in Thief River Falls.
She is survived by one nephew Raymond Spencer of Thief River Falls, MN; nieces Carolyn (Arnold) Person of Oklee, MN; Carla (George) Johnson of Thief River Falls, MN and Joanne (Vernon) Voeltz of Trail, MN: numerous nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her husband Omer, sister Lena (Loiland) Spencer; brothers Ole Loiland, Louie Loiland, Jorgen Loiland, Theodore Loiland and Gunder Loiland.
