Obituary

Henry E. Cyr, 96 of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Thursday, August 30, 2001 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2001 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the Cyr Cemetery near Red Lake Falls. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday only. Henry Edward Cyr was born April 23, 1905 son of the late Paul and Ozette (Violette) Cyr in Red Lake Falls, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. On August 2, 1927 he was united in marriage to Ruby Pettit in Meadowland, MN. He worked as a janitor for St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Lincoln Hotel from 1930 to 1934. He also worked at the towmill in Red Lake Falls and worked on the Alaskan Highway. In 1940 he was married to Delia Beaudry and moved to Port Angeles, WA and then to Yakima, WA where he worked in the Hop fields. He also raised chinchilla's for many years. Henry worked for Crown Zellerbach in Washington over 30 years, retiring in 1970. Henry moved back to Red Lake Falls in 1992. Henry is survived by his sons Henry Jr. (Cicile) Cyr at Wetumpka, AL and Harland (Midge) Cyr of Kingman, AZ. Step children Mary (Henry) Schmist of Yakima, WA; Raymond Martin of Yakima, WA; Bob Martin of Yakima, WA; Alga Sutley of Kelso, WA and Vinita Norman of Kingman, AZ. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wives Ruby and Delia: one son Richard and his 11 brothers and sisters.
