Henry P. Knott, 87, died on Thursday, October 11, 2001 at his rural Red Lake Falls home. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 15, 2001 at 2:00 PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake Falls.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 " 7 PM with a 4:00 PM prayer service at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Henry Peter Knott was born April 1, 1914 in Gervais Township, Red Lake County, MN son of Leo and Margaret (Gorres) Knott. He was raised on the family farm and attended rural school. He farmed with his family for a short time and them moved to Minneapolis, MN where he painted for a number of years. On May 15, 1940 he was united in marriage to Pauline Seeger at St. Marys Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. The couple lived in Lake Pleasant Township near Red Lake Falls where they had dairy, beef and a grain farm, until retiring in 1975. After retirement he spent a lot of time on the farm helping till the fields where he loved to be.
Henry enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, driving the tractor, playing cards and watching wildlife. Most of All Henry enjoyed the time spent with his family and the time spent with his dog Keno. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, the Pathfinders club, NFO, Farmers Union and the Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA).
He is survived by his wife Pauline Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN; Children Henry Knott Jr. (Janet) of Monticello, MN; Paulette Busch (Terry) of Reston, VA; Gary Knott (Elizabeth) of Brooklyn Park, MN; Merle Knott (Linda) of Lincoln, NB; Duane Knott (Faith) of Red Lake Falls, MN; Bonnie Klein (Joe) of Richfield, MN; Sharon Johnson (Bob) of Thief River Falls, MN; Marge Nichols of Klamath Falls, OR; Glen Knott of Thief River Falls, MN; Nancy Birrenkott (Joe) of Casselton, ND; Philip Knott of Thief River Falls, MN: 28 grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters Gazella Zins of Dickinson, ND; Gertrude Schmitz (Ed) of Red Lake Falls, MN; Frank Knott (Isabelle) of Red Lake Falls, MN; Francis Schiefert of Thief River Falls, MN: several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Yvonne Knott; brothers John, Gust, Matt and Harvey and sisters Dora McBroom and Elizabeth Schmitz.
