Henry Linder, Oklee, MN, 82 passed away on Friday January 5, 2024 at Thief River Care Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

The service to celebrate Henry's life will be on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN at 11:00 AM and will be led by Henry's friend, Ronald E. Skallet. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery, Oklee, MN with military honors provided by the Oklee Honor Guard and Minnesota Army National Guard Honor Guard.

Henry Gordon Linder was born on October 24, 1941 son of Louis and Gladys (Knutson) Linder on the family farm in Red Lake County close to Oklee, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church, Oklee, MN. He graduated from Oklee High School in 1960.

Henry served in the United States Army while stationed in Hawaii from 1962 until 1965. He received awards as a Sharpshooter and an Expert Rifle's Man.

He worked for area farmers and started his own business "Henry's Signs", painting on many trucks, trailers, and billboards around Thief River Falls and surrounding towns. His 1st painting job for Oklee, MN was the window of Curly's bar in 1965 and his 1st painting for Thief River Falls, MN was the window of Meds Barber Shop. He used Bulletin One Shot Sign Lettering Enamel on these windows. One of his favorite paintings was for the D & R Grocery Store in Oklee, MN.  He continued serving his communities for over 40 years.

Henry retired from his painting career in 1991 and used his free time to draw cartoon characters. It didn't take long for the Oklee Herald to catch wind of his drawings and soon Henry was drawing for the paper. If he had to send out anything in the mail or give a piece of paper to any one he always drew a little something on it for them to know who it was coming from. He will be remembered for all his creative drawings and paintings.

He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Linder; and brother, Harold.
