Obituary







Henry Moen, 89, of Oklee, MN died on Wednesday, August 9, 2000 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN. Arrangements with the Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2000 at 11:00 AM in Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee, MN with Reverend Robert Paulson Officiating. Burial will be held in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday 6 " 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service and also one hour prior to services on Saturday all at Salem Lutheran Church.

Henry Gilbert Moen was born August 26, 1910 at Harwood, ND son of the late Hans and Augusta (Engvig) Moen. He was raised and attended school there. On September 3, 1939 he was united in marriage to Alice Christianson in Hickory Township near Oklee. The couple lived and farmed near Harwood until 1941 when they moved to a farm 9 ½ miles north on Oklee where they farmed and lived until 1991 when they moved into Oklee and resided there until February 28, 1998 when they moved to Hibbing, MN. Alice passed away July 21, 1998. Henry has resided at Oakland Park Nursing Home since October of 1999.

Henry enjoyed hunting, shinning and fishing. He loved to visit with people. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee.

Henry is survived by his children Beverly Bakken (Stanley) of Hibbing, MN; Bruce Moen of Oklee, MN; Clyde Moen (Laura) of Thief River Falls, MN and Clayton Moen (Jacqueline) of Rochester, MN: 9 grandchildren Kelly, Jason, Daren, David, Jennifer, Carol, Jon, Nathan and Janel: 10 great-grandchildren Macy, Asia, Alysa, Henry, Amanda, Meghin, Dylan, Tiffany, Cardeay and Steven: one great-great grandson Tyler.

He is preceded in death by his wife Alice, parents, great-grandson Mitchell, two brothers Albert Moen and Melvin Moen; one sister Nora Feltus.
