Herbert E. Zinter, 80, of Thief River Falls, formerly of Grygla, died December 31, 2008 at Meritcare Northwest Campus in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Faith Lutheran Church, Goodridge, MN with Pastor Bob Dahlen officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Jerusalem Cemetery, rural Goodridge.

Herbert E. Zinter was born on August 6, 1928 to Herman and Ida (Gaedke) Zinter. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN, and attended country school in Moylan Township. Herbert farmed most of his life in Moylan Township and also worked for Arctic Cat and in the woods as a logger. He also enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.

Herbert is survived by brother Carl (Opal) Zinter of Canby, MN, several nieces and nephews, Dennis (Donna) Zinter of Madison, MN, Craig (Marcia) Zinter of Chaska, MN, Gene (Bobbie) Zinter of Canby, MN, Edythe (Richard) Vavrichek of Maple Grove, MN, Marvin Peters of Goodridge, MN, Galen (Jodi) Peters of Goodridge, MN, Karen (Arnold) Njaa of Wannaska, MN, Martha Whelan of West Fargo, ND, Fred Zinter Goodridge, MN, Carol (Walter) Alten of Wannaska; and a brother in law Clarence Peters of Goodridge, MN.

He is preceded in death by sisters Louise Seaver and Ruth Peters; brothers Henry, Otto, two brothers who died in infancy.
