Herren Clausen, 91, died on Friday, July 21, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, in Thief River Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 28, 2006 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Tim McGee presiding. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.
Herren Helen Hunstad was born on December 15, 1914 in Radium, MN, the daughter of Kittel and Jessie (Schantzen) Hunstad. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and attended schools in Radium and Argyle, graduating from Thief River Falls High School.
Herren was united in marriage to Emil Clausen on April 30, 1932 at Warren, MN. The couple lived in Radium, Grygla, Minneapolis and Red Lake Falls before moving to Thief River Falls in 1978. Emil died on February 1, 1991. Herren moved to Riverside Terrace in 1991 and entered CNC in August, 2005.
Herren was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church and enjoyed doing needle point, embroidering and crocheting.
Herren is survived by her daughter, Janice Thiel of East Grand Forks, MN; daughter-in-law, Mae Clausen of Aitkin, MN; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Joe Hunstad of Minneapolis, MN; half brother, Robert Hunstad of Eagan, MN; and half sister, Helen Gleason of Minneapolis, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; sons, Carroll and Mervyn; daughter-in-law, Mavis Clausen, son-in-law, Vernon Thiel; sister, Huella and brothers, Harlan and Hilton.
