Hilda Hoffman, 91, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will be in the Goodridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 and at the church for one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Hilda Irene Kompen was born on June 12, 1913 in Lyon County, Minnesota, the daughter of Gudbrand and Julia (Broughton) Kompen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended Hazelwood School District 59, and graduated from Goodridge High School. Hilda was united in marriage to Oldrich Hoffman on June 7, 1939 in Goodridge. The couple farmed in Highlanding Township, until Oldrichs death in 1984.

Hilda was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church and was an active member of Faith Women of ELCA, Eve Circle. She was a founding member and office holder in the Goodridge Senior Citizens.

Hilda is survived by three daughters: Judy (Ron) Shurtz of Oakdale, CA, Irene (Richard) Farrigan of East Berme, NY and Susan Hoffman (Greg Langeliers) of Nashville, TN; and five grandchildren: Scott (Beth Anne) Shurtz, Davis, CA, Steve Farrigan, Albany, NY, Christine (Eric) Armentrout, Norfolk, VA, Gretchen Hoffman, Emporia, KS and Jason Hoffman of Reno, NV.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oldrich; her parents; her son, Clinton; one brother, Alvin; sisters: Gladys Kompen, Clenora Iverson and Agnes Jensen; and one nephew, Gary Iverson.
