Howard Peterson, 73, died on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the Evangelical Free Church in Newfolden, MN with Pastor Gary Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Folden Cemetery, rural Newfolden, MN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 6:00 P.M. prayer service on Wednesday evening and at the church for one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Howard Nelmer Peterson was born on August 30, 1932 in Holt, MN, the son of Norman and Anne (Larson) Peterson. He attended school in Holt and Newfolden.

Howard was united in marriage to Donna Hanson on November 1, 1953 in Strathcona, MN by Pastor Edward Folden, Donnas uncle. The couple farmed and Howard drove gravel truck and concrete truck. They lived for a time by Euclid, MN and he worked at a Potato Factory. Howard and Donna moved back to the Newfolden area and he worked at Arctic, as a welder, until his retirement in 1998.

Howard enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, feeding the deer and grouse and cutting wood. He also liked to watch NASCAR, boxing and bull riding on TV. He loved listening to his favorite music, southern gospel, visiting with friends and he was very proud of his family.

Howard is survived by his wife, Donna of Newfolden, MN; one daughter, Linda from Hallock, MN; two sons, Gary from St. Paul, MN and Allen from Tucson, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond; sister-in-law, Susie Peterson brother-in-law, Ronald Lee Hanson; and Donnas parents, Edwin and Mabel Hanson.
