Beatrice Illa Nicholson was born October 27, 1918 at Gatzke, MN, the daughter of Ira and Ruth (Loft) Nicholson. She attended Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls, MN, graduating in 1936.
On March 4, 1939, Illa was united in marriage to Edward DeLap in Thief River Falls, MN. She worked for Jungs Bakery, Nopers and Valley Home all in Thief River Falls, MN. Edward died September 21, 1993.
Illa was a member of United Methodist Church, Thief River Falls, MN and Wesley Circle. She liked to square dance, embroidery, quilt, bake and crochet. She also was a 30 year member of a neighborhood sewing club.
Illa is survived by 5 children: Kenneth (Jean) DeLap, Dickinson, ND, Janet Griffith, Thief River Falls, MN, Roger (Carol) DeLap, Thief River Falls, MN and Gordon DeLap (Carole), Thief River Falls, MN; and Paula DeLap (Terese LaLomia), Minneapolis, MN; 7 grandchildren: Susan (David) DeLap Musser, Bismarck, ND, Steven (April) DeLap, Jamestown, ND, Cory (Amy) DeLap, Thief River Falls, MN, Angie (Stephen) Vanderport, Greenbush, MN, Kari DeLap, Minneapolis, MN, Lisa (Michael) Bryant, New Hope, MN and Lori (Roy) Marshall, Fisher, MN; 11 great grandchildren: Matthew, Kennedy, Madisyn, Brooklyn, Avery, Sebastian, Chloe, Emma, Melissa, Nicholas and Meah; brother: Earl (Shirley) Nicholson, California; sister-in-law, Peggy Nicholson, Erskine, MN; daughter-in-law, Bonnie DeLap, Thief River Falls, MN and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by husband, Edward on September 21, 1993; parents; brother, Lawrence Nicholson; sister, Irene Saustad and son-in-law, Tony Griffith.
