Inanda Hanson, 97 died on Saturday, June 29, 2002 at the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at Johnson-Green Funeral Chapel in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Wollenzein officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Monday, July 1, 2002 at Johnson-Green Funeral Chapel and from 9:00 AM Tuesday until time of services at the funeral home.

Inanda Melvine Hanson was born on May 23, 1905 the daughter of Henry and Sine (Omundson) Hanson in Silverton Township, Pennington County, Minnesota. She was baptized by Rev. Aastad at the Synod Church in Thief River Falls, Minnesota and was confirmed at Silverton Lutheran Church in 1920. She attended the Elwell School in District 28.

In 1919 upon the death of her mother and ten year old brother in the flu epidemic, at the age of 14 years, Inanda assumed care of her family, including her father and two younger sisters. At the age of 16 she became organist in the Silverton Lutheran Church and continued in that position for forty-three years.

In 1946 her father retired and the family moved to Thief River Falls. Henry Hanson died in 1948. Inanda worked in a restaurant for 4 years and then became employed at Bostwicks Store and continued there for the next seventeen years. She retired in 1970. In her retirement, Inanda cared for her semi-invalid sister, Gladys, until her death in 1992. In 1993 Inanda entered Valley Home in Thief River Falls and in 1997 entered the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls since 1964.

Survivors include one sister, Estelle Grinde of Thief River Falls, Minnesota; nephew, Homer Grinde of Keenesburg, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.

Inanda is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Orlando Hanson; and sister, Gladys Hanson; nephew, Milton Grinde; and brother-in-law, Melvin Grinde.
