Inez Kostrzewski, 83, died peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN with her family at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 PM on Monday, April 4, 2011 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will be at St. Stephens Cemetery in Stephen, MN at 4:30 PM.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral at church.

Inez Marie McKeever was born December 19, 1927 in Thompson, ND, the daughter of Daniel H. and Mary (Nikle) McKeever. She was baptized at St. Judes Catholic Church, Thompson, ND and confirmed at St. Marys Cathedral, Fargo, ND. She attended school in Grand Forks, ND, St. Marys Catholic School in Fargo, ND and Middle River High School.

On November 19, 1946, Inez was united in marriage to Edward Kostrzewski by Father Merth at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. The couple lived on a farm in Nelson Park Township, rural Strandquist for 60 years. She worked as a seamstress and in the packaging and shipping department at Arctic Cat in Karlstad, MN for 11 years. She also worked during the potato harvest season for a number of years. Inez enjoyed being a wife and mother raising her children and she worked very hard on the farm. In June of 2006, Inez moved to Greenleaf Assisted Living in Thief River Falls. She truly enjoyed living at Greenleaf where she made many friends and spent her days playing cards, games, dice and puzzles. Recently, Inez moved to Hillcrest Senior Living to spend the last of her days with her husband, Edward.

Inez was a former member of Stephens Catholic Church in Stephen, MN and a current member of St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Inez enjoyed flowers, game shows, embroidering, sewing, cooking, baking, canning, reading and gardening.

Inez is survived by husband, Edward, at Hillcrest Senior Living in Red Lake Falls, MN; children: Julia Judy (Arvid) Sten, Argyle, MN, Vernon Kostrzewski, Forreston, MN, Birdean (Maureen) Kostrzewski, Crookston, MN, Dale (special friend, Peggy Guzek) Kostrzewski, Strandquist, MN and Yvonne (Tim) Bergerson, Thief River Falls, MN; 11 grandchildren: Michael (Julie) Sten, Annette Sten, Kelly (Nevada) Romsdahl, Kari (Troy) Walz, Rebecca (Denver) Missel, Billie (Jeremy) Gagner, Heidi (fiance, Adrian Chaffee), Dean Kostrzewski, Logan Kostrzewski, Ashley (special friend, Timmy Irelan) Bergerson, Trevor (special friend, Alicia Rux) Bergerson; 9 great grandchildren, Tyler, Lindsey and Megan Gagner, Madison Kostrzewski, Brady Walz, Mason and River Romsdahl, Donovan and Damien Missel; sister, Betty (Jim) Hjelle of Newfolden, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Ervin Kostrzewski, parents; sisters, Dorothy Staudacher, Rosella Rosie Parent, Ione Vigor; and brother, Daniel McKeever.
