Obituary

Ingeborg Byklum, 84 died Sunday, September 05, 2004 at the CNC Unit, Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.

Ingeborg Johnson was born August 30, 1920, in Hamre Township, Beltrami County, MN, the daughter of John and Thora (Tyrdal) Torjusson. She grew up and attended country school in Hamre Township.

She worked at the hospital in Thief River Falls and also worked at a bakery in Grand Forks, ND and Milwaukee, WI. On March 23, 1946, Ingeborg was united in marriage to Ole Byklum at the parsonage in Grygla, MN. She and Ole farmed together in Benville Township and in 1967, they moved to Spruce Grove Township, where they farmed small grain and had dairy cattle. She worked at Land-O-Lakes Turkey Plant in Thief River Falls from 1965 until retiring in early 1980s. She helped feed the calves and helped with the milking until July of 2003.

Ingeborg was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Grygla, MN and was active in the Ladies Aid and Sewing Circle. She liked to knit, crochet, garden and grow flowers.

Survived by husband, Ole, Grygla, MN; children, Linda (Wes) Skibicki, Thief River Falls, MN, Orvis (Marilou) and Richard Byklum, all Grygla, MN; 6 grandchildren, Lynn (Sharon) Skibicki, Stacie (Bob) Grant, Ryan (special friend, Bonnie) Skibicki, Jessica Byklum, Lisa Byklum and Kevin Byklum; great grandchild, Jerome Joe Lee Skibicki; sisters-in-law, Bernice Sistad and Tilda Byklum, Grygla, MN; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by daughter, Joan Diane Byklum, parents, sister, Tillie Sistad, brothers, Torjus and Saave Johnson and a nephew, David Sistad.
