Iola Anderson, 79, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the First Care Hospital in Fosston, MN.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN with Rev. Bob Paulson officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Cemetery, Oklee, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, on Friday, March 9, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service, Oklee, MN with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.

Iola Christina Dunrud was born February 23, 1928 to Olaf and Lillis (Casler) Dunrud in Muskegon, MI. She grew up the Gonvick, MN area on the family farm. She attended the Windsor Country School north of Gonvick.

Iola was married and one daughter Carol was born. She moved to the Twin Cities and she was married again. To this union two more daughters were born, Deborah and Cindy. In the early 1970s she moved back to the Oklee area. She then married Orrin on October 21, 1973 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN. They made their home on the farm NE of Oklee. She helped raise her family and helped Orrin on the farm. She had a sewing shop for a short time in Oklee. They also owned the Laundromat in Oklee for a few years.

Iola enjoyed shopping, gardening, ceramics, oil painting, crossword puzzles. She enjoyed the Red Hat Society. She was an avid sewer.

Iola is survived by her husband Orrin, Oklee, MN; two daughters: Deborah Janssen, Madison, WI; Cindy (Randy) Lucek, Campbell, MN; 4 grandchildren: Charles Bright, Newport Beach, CA; Jennifer Boucher, Austin, TX; Nolan Boucher, Grand Rapids, MN; Donovan Boucher, Fargo, ND; one brother Ken (Marcy) Dunrud, Thief River Falls, MN; one sister Eleanor Sundquist, Gonvick, MN; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carol Bright in 2003, one sister Anna May Rhindal.
