Ione Fillmore of Middle River, MN passed away at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, 2:00 pm at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN with Shawn Wagner Officiating. Burial will be held at the Holt Cemetery, Holt, MN.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 5 – 8 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Ione Nanet Olson was born on May 1, 1947 at Roseau, MN daughter of the late George and Ida (Karlstad) Olson. She was raised at Salol, MN and attended school at Malung school and Roseau High School. She worked at the children's home in Roseau.

On September 18, 1965 she was united in marriage to Thomas Fillmore at Pine Grove Lutheran Church Pencer, MN. To this union 4 children were born Charlene, Shelly, Todd and Michael. The couple made their home in South Junction, Manitoba, Canada. In 1969 they moved to Middle River, MN where they purchased a farm. Ione worked at Johnson's Boarding Home, Valley Home and finally Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls for many years retiring in 2014.

Ione enjoyed attending garage sales, spending a little time at the Casino, playing bingo, flower gardening, baking, painting and artwork, and collecting roosters. She loved spending time and visiting at family gatherings. Holidays were a special time especially Christmas. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, ladies aid group, and Homemakers.

Ione is survived by her children Charlene Hestekind of Newfolden, MN, Shelly (Chad) Peters of Viking, MN, Todd (Kathy) Fillmore of Middle River, MN and Michael (Allison) Fillmore of Middle River, MN: Grandchildren Jessica Hestekind, Kyle Hestekind, Emily Hestekind, Cody (Stephanie) Peters, Ayden Peters, Maverick Peters, Stephie Peters, Beth Zavoral, Maggie Zavoral, Sarah Fillmore, Luke Fillmore, Bodhi Fillmore, Blayke Fillmore; great-grandchildren Gavin Desrosier, Azure Peters, Kyzer Peters, Deklin Waldbauer and one expected in December; siblings Carol Garthus, Kay (Gene) Sistad, Janice (Ade) Neisius, Diane Thiessen, Charles Olson; sisters-in-law, Denise and Carla Olson; great-aunt Evelyn Peterson; along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas, parents George and Ida Olson; siblings Corrine Swenson, Elaine Sundahl, LeRoy, Gerald, and Ron Olson; brothers-in-law Jay Garthus, Andrew Thiessen, Eldon Swenson, nieces DeLayne McBride and Angela Olson.
