Obituary

Irene Fellman, 82, of Thief River Falls died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 1 PM, Monday, April 17, 2006 at United Methodist Church, Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend Phil Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 11 " 1 PM, Monday, April 17, 2006 at the church.

Irene May Hooker was born May 30, 1923 in Sussex, England, the daughter of Stephen B. and Alice May Hooker. She grew up there and attended school until she was 14, when she stayed home to take care of her mother until the age of 16. Irene joined the Royal British Army, March 9, 1939, where she served as a Drill Sergeant until her discharge, September 26, 1942. She came to the United States in 1946.

On April 7, 1960, Irene was united in marriage to Winton Swede Fellman. She became a citizen on November 13, 1970.

She worked at various jobs in Thief River Falls, including Johnsons Boarding Home and also cleaned houses for several families in Thief River Falls. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Thief River Falls, MN. Irene liked to garden, entertain, bake, play UNO and especially visit with her good friends Kathryn Nelson, Dorothy Blodgett and grandchildren.

Irene is survived by husband, Winton, Red Lake Falls, MN, 4 children, Helen Victor, Duluth, MN, Barry (Nancy) Fellman, Thief River Falls, MN, Warren (Nancy) Fellman, Thief River Falls, MN and Shawn (Lisa) Fellman, Rosemount, MN; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Ken Hooker, and sister, Ethel Reed, England.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemarie and parents.
