Irene Molskness age 96 of Rochester, Minnesota passed away 6/19/2020.  She was a woman of faith, strength, humor and grandmother to all.  An adventurous soul who loved life.  She will be missed.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 9:00 AM at the Holt Cemetery, Holt, MN with Reverend Alex Amiot Officiating.

Irene Josephine Erickson was born September 22, 1923 at Gatzke, Minnesota, the daughter of Oscar Frederic and Myrtle Isabelle (Knutson) Erickson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, Minnesota.  She attended Ringbo school for 8 years and received her GED and took courses in accounting, typing and computer in Florida and attended beauty school in Thief River Falls.

In August of 1940, Irene was united in marriage to Stanley Lysne at Holt.  Stanley died July 21, 1989.  In August 1992, she married Maynard Molskness at Abundant Life Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.  Maynard passed away May 1, 2003.

Irene worked at Woolworths in Thief River Falls and later transferred to Woolworths in Florida. She worked at Herberger's in Grand Forks, ND.  For 35 years, she owned and operated a beauty shop in her homes in Holt, Newfolden and East Grand Forks.

She liked to read a good book, write emails on her computer, go out to eat and especially spending time with her family and friends.

She was pre-ceded in death by her husbands, Stanley Lysne and Maynard Molskness, daughter, Carolyn Jablinski and daughter in law Dianna Lysne. Parents, Siblings - Blanche Palm, Carmen Schultz, Marlow Anderson and brothers Delano, Oliver, Harold, Galen and Roy Erickson.   She is survived by her son, Sherman (Barb) Lysne of Abilene, Kansas. Siblings – Wavell, Garner and Donald Erickson, June Sipkens and Grace Olson.   Grandchildren - Laurie (Randy) Harger, Pam (Keith) Daley, Stacey (Jeffrey) Antes, Debbie (James) Trautner, Kristin Bouffleur and Jamey (Kelly) Lysne.

Great-Grandchildren – Jordy(/Jessica) Harger, Chaz Harger, Alicia (Justin) Magner, Jake (engaged to Molly Magner) and Breann Toren, Haley Trautner, Elias, Noah and Jonah Antes, Retten (Emmy) Knutson, Brandal Bossman, MacKenzie (Dylan) Lubeck, Garrett and Kendra Lysne, Great-Great Grandchildren –Aubrey, Conner, Kaiser, Oliver, Kayelyn, Diem, Tayzen, Emmie, Mason and Raiden.
