Obituary

Jack Boyer, 84, died on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Jack Daniel Boyer was born on July 31, 1920 in Cloquet, MN, the son of Royal Daniel and Thelma (McGilvary) Boyer. He attended school in Cloquet, graduating from Cloquet High School. Following High School he attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota in Duluth, MN.

Jack was united in marriage to Dorothy Eppard on December 6, 1942. He entered the United States Army Air Corps as a fighter pilot during World War II, on January 7, 1944 and was Honorably Discharged on November 20, 1945.

Jack taught school in Wrenshall and Princeton before moving to Thief River Falls, teaching school in Thief River Falls from 1956 to 1985. He also coached golf.

Jack enjoyed golfing, playing cards, going to the library with friends, and loved being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four children: Connie (Bob) Dicken, Deb Teiken, Jessie Boyer and Charlie (Wendy) Boyer; seven grandchildren: Jeremy (Steph) Dicken, Lisa (Kris) Halsrud (Dicken), Greg (Teresa) Boyer, Carson (special friend, Flora Ramirez) Comstock, B. J. Boyer, Parker Comstock and McKenzie Comstock; one great granddaughter, Alexis Dicken; one brother, Bruce Boyer; three sisters: Betty Hanebeck, Dorothy Hanebeck and Charline Priest; and nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Beverly Lefler.
