Jack Carl Srnsky, 77, of St. Hilaire, MN died on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his residence.
Memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Jack Carl Srnsky was born March 25, 1940 in Pennington County, MN the son of Frank and Ida (Sordahl) Srnsky. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Jack attended St. Hilaire Elementary School and Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN.
On July 2, 1960 Jack was united in marriage to Cheryl Nabben in Thief River Falls, MN by Pastor Lynn Luthard. The couple made their home in St. Hilaire, MN and to this union five children were born, Gregory, Brenda, Wesley, Pamela and Rodney.
Jack farmed, was a truck driver, welder and most recently had begun working for Field Drainage of Brooks, MN.
He loved attending and visiting at auction sales, camping, snowmobiling, reading, tinkering on his machinery and spending time with family.
He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl of St. Hilaire, MN; children, Gregory (Joy) Srnsky of St. Hilaire, Brenda (Richard) Eckstein of Thief River Falls, and Pamela (Mark) Peterson of Monticello, MN; grandchildren, Seth Eckstein, Chad Eckstein, Lucas Eckstein all of Thief River Falls, Joe Srnsky of Yucaipa, CA, Jacob Peterson of Hattiesburg, MS and Rylee Peterson of Custer, SD; sisters, Jean Walker of Duluth, MN, Darlene (Vernon) Rooker of Grand Forks, ND, Sharon (John) Bugge of St. Hilaire, MN; brother, Richard (Alice) Srnsky of Elk River, MN; sister-in-law, Patricia Srnsky of Thief River Falls; daughter-in-law, Romayne Srnsky-Wilson of Thief River Falls; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his sons, Wesley and Rodney Srnsky; granddaughter, Elizabeth Cheryl Jordan Srnsky; parents; grandparents, Knut & Tilda Sordahl and Alois & Clara Srnsky; brother, Jim Srnsky; sister, Clarice Rooker; brothers-in-law, Elmer Rooker and Albert Walker; nephew, Gary Walker; niece, Laurie Zondolek.
