James Bechard of Goodridge, MN, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by his family at the age of 67. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, with Ron Skallet officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls. James Aldren Bechard was born on August 13, 1947 to Charles and Margaret (Stotts) Bechard in Murdo, SD. He later moved to Minnesota in 1950. He met his future wife Faye Anderson. They were married on April 28, 1967 in Bessemier, MI. They made their home in Minneapolis, MN for a short time. In 1972 they moved to Gully, MN, then lived in Staples, MN for five years, then New York Mills for 3 years, and Plummer, MN for a time. They settled in Goodridge in 1989. Jim drove truck and construction along with many other jobs. After retirement he helped local farmers and anyone who needed a hand. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and especially time with his family. He loved to just drive around and look at the country. He will be dearly missed by everyone and anyone he met. He is survived by his 5 children Michelle Jones, Jamestown, ND, Lisa (Clint) Holsapple, Middle River, MN, Kelly Bechard, Twin Cities, MN, Jay Bechard, Thief River Falls, MN, and Bob Bechard, Jamestown, ND; 9 Grandchildren Matt (Amanda), Tayler, Logan (Amber), Jennifer, Sacha, Samantha Holsapple, Hunter Boese, Cody Spenst, and Tiffany Bechard; 1 Great Grandson, Easton Holsapple; sister's Shirley Smith, Superior Wisconsin, Lillian Riggs, Warroad MN, Charlotte Borseth, Brother Keith (Glow) Bechard, Brainerd MN. He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and 2 sisters Florence Anderson and Sarah Kittleson.
