James Bendickson, 73, died on Sunday, May 31, 2015 near Clearbrook, MN. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Timothy Lundeen Officiating. Burial will be at MT. Olive Cemetery rural Trail, MN. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mt. Olive Cemetery Fund. James Wayne Bendickson was born July 8, 1941 at Thief River Falls, MN, the son Conrad and Florence (Hoffenbecker) Bendickson. He was raised east of Oklee, MN and attended school at Oklee graduating in 1961. His employment included Nadeau's Plumbing and Heating, working in the mines, piping up homes and traveling around on various jobs. In 1966 he started welding in the mines, he also worked on ranches in Montana and returned to the Oklee area in the winters. James also worked for Plummer Excavating for 12 years, while doing welding jobs on the side. In 1991 Jim went to Lengby, MN and picked out trees for a log home, hauled them home and took the bark off of them, Richard Culkins erected the walls at his place took it all apart and re-erected the home at Jim's current home. James was a member of the 49'ers Union. He enjoyed spending time with friends, welding, fishing and deer hunting. James had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a hand to help others. Survived by sisters: Marsha Bendickson, Minneapolis, MN, Ida Mae Brightsman, Northfield, MN and Barbara Forsberg, Cannon Falls, MN and brother, Clyde Bendickson, Lavina, MT and several nieces and nephews. Jim is preceded in death by parents and his special friend Janice Turner.
