James Dahlen, 70 of Goodridge, MN passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND with his family by his side.

The memorial service to celebrate the life of James Dahlen will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN with Rev. Kristin Ostercamp officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Ekelund Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Goodridge, MN.

James Lee Dahlen was born May 21, 1952 at Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN to Justin and Olga (Reindal) Dahlen. James was baptized and confirmed at Goodridge Lutheran Church. He attended the Goodridge School graduating in 1970. During his school years, Jimmy enjoyed playing sports especially basketball and football.

After graduation, he helped neighbor farmers as handyman in the summer and started driving school bus for the Goodridge School at 19 years old. He continued driving school bus for the Goodridge School for almost 40 years.

Jim owned and operated his parents farm where he had beef cattle, raised hay and small grains. He also did custom harvesting for neighbors.

After retirement Jim continued to live in Goodridge among his many friends where drove for Tri-Valley in the summer and enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, playing cards, reading, canning, and gardening.

For enjoyment, Jim purchased an RV and during the winter months traveled to Florida, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, and Alaska. He really enjoyed traveling with two RV Groups, the WINS or the LOWS.

Those who preceded Jim in death are his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Survivors include his brothers, Galen (Jane) Dahlen of Thief River Falls, Ronnie (Sandi) Dahlen of Lynwood, WA, and David (Carol) Dahlen of Crestview, FL; nieces and nephews, Jacqueline (Chris) Jorde, Karla (Wayne) Byklum, Rachel Dahlen, Travis (Bridget) Dahlen, Kevin Dahlen, Jerry Dahlen; great-nieces and great-nephews, Tabitha (Nic) Miller, Chelsey (Bryan) Sorvig, Jace Jorde, Dacotah (Chelsea) Byklum, Darien Byklum, Braeden Thomas, Olivia Dahlen, Briggs Dahlen, Parker Dahlen; great-great nieces and great-great nephews, Gage, Raegan, Jackson, Ellie and Nash; and many other relatives and friends.
