Obituary

James Thomas Raymond, of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2026 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND surrounded by love and faith.

Born on April 5, 1948, in Red Lake Falls, MN, James was the beloved son of Felix Joseph Raymond and Eva (Perreault) Raymond. He grew up in the close‑knit community of Red Lake Falls, where he attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and graduated from LaFayette High School. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith, and his connection to St. Joseph Catholic Church remained an important part of his life.

James lived a quiet, steady life rooted in family, community, and the values he learned from his parents. He was deeply connected to those around him and carried a gentle presence that left an impression on everyone who knew him. He worked at Homark in Red Lake Falls for many years until his retirement.

A lifelong resident of Minnesota, James was a man of simple joys and steady routines. He loved the game of golf.

James is preceded in death by loved ones who went before him: his parents, Felix and Eva; sister, Julie Federer; and brother-in-law, Bruce Foster. He is survived by, siblings, Wayne (Ruth) Raymond, Carol Foster, Diane (Vernon) Nowacki and Michael (Sherry) Raymond; brother-in-law, Bob Federer; extended family, friends, and community members who will remember him with affection and gratitude.

Mass of Christian burial for Jim will be held 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls, MN on Thursday, March 12, 2026 with Father Bryan Kujawa presiding and John Bruggeman Deacon. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Following the service, James will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.
