James Tvedt, 58, died on Saturday, November 13, 2004 while deer hunting at Glacier Ridge Refuge in Polk County MN.
James was born on December 2, 1945 in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Henry Sr. and Rose (Cook) Tvedt. He was baptized into the Catholic Faith and confirmed at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. He attended St. Josephs Catholic School and LaFayette High School, Red Lake Falls.
On August 7, 1971 he was united in marriage to Linda T. Cardinal at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Following their marriage they continued to reside in Red Lake Falls. Jim worked for School Dist. 630 for 32 years as custodian. When he was younger he worked for some area farmers. He also worked for the Red Lake County Highway Department.
Jim was a dedicated family man, always spending time with his grandchildren, daughters and family. His grandsons were his Little Buddies and granddaughters his Sweet Peas. Jim enjoyed spending time at Jerry Nelsons farm, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, cutting wood, gardening, playing horse shoes and playing cards with his son-in-law Bernie and his brother, Joe. Jim was always a hard worker, loyal to his job, and a good nurse for Linda when she wasnt feeling well.
He is survived by his wife Linda, Red Lake Falls, MN; children Jennifer Tvedt of Crookston, MN, Janelle Tvedt of, Fraze, MN, Jill and Bernie DeHate of Plummer, MN, Joanie and Ryan Longtin of Orlando, FL; grandchildren Blake Roger Tvedt DeHate, Katheryne Anna DeHate, Kara Lee Longtin, Brandie Lynn DeHate, Heather Rose Longtin, Paul Bernard DeHate, Skylar Ryan Longtin; brothers Henry and Florence Tvedt of Plummer, MN, Kenneth and Marilyn Tvedt of Wrenshal, MN, Ole and Karen Tvedt of Red Lake Falls, MN, Joe and Darlene Tvedt of, Cloquet, MN, John and Mary Tvedt of Mentor, MN; father-in-law, Elmer Pee Wee Cardinal of Red Lake Falls, MN; brothers and sisters-in law Joyce and Bucky Wright of Fertile, MN, Janice and Fred Landman of Red Lake Falls, MN, Roger and Sally Cardinal of Red Lake Falls, MN Karen Audette of Crookston, MN, David Cardinal and special friend Lou of Kansas, Dean and Wanda Cardinal of Red Lake Falls MN, Jay and Carla Cardinal of Red Lake Falls, MN; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerome in infancy, great nieces Heather Rose Tvedt and Alyssa Glumac, mother-in-law Theresa Cardinal, niece Mary Landman, and brother-in-law Jerry Audette.
